For a wonderful relaxing time away from the hectic pace of the human race, come to Apuckawa Hills Ranch. We know it will be an experience you'll want to repeat year after year.
You will be staying in a large, air-conditioned, fully furnished, country home that contains all the modern amenities. The home has 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. There are 40 acres of woods on the premises with walking paths and sitting areas for animal and bird-watching. The property is near the Grand River Marsh, and in the evening one can easily observe herds of deer throughout the area.We are located in South Central Wisconsin, 1/4 mile from Lake Puckaway for Walleye and Northern Pike, 20 minutes from Big Green Lake for Trout, or 15 minutes from Little Green Lake for Muskie and pan fish. Boat rentals are readily available. A large, sandy beach with childrens' playground equipment is also just 15 minutes away. If you are a golf enthusiast, you are only 20 minutes from two beautiful 36 hole courses (Lawsonia and Tuscumbia) as well as a driving range and miniature golf course. The nearby village of Marquette has 2 family restaurants/taverns; also a Supper Club. Nearby towns (within 12 - 15 miles) also yield more excellent eating places as well as gift shops, folk art, and antiques galore. If you like to gamble, or want to visit Wisconsin Dells, we're only an hour away.
We are nestled in the middle of a heavily populated Amish area where you can go down the road, buy Amish furniture and other household items, quilts, candy, cheese, or items from their grocery store. Fresh Amish bakery is available on Fridays and Saturdays. We provide a map of their community.
It's all here for you to enjoy at your leisure, but in the evening you can relax in your country setting, view beautiful sunsets from pool-side or from the large screened-in porch, then drop off to sleep lulled by songs of the crickets, chirps of pond frogs and occasional calls from distant owls.
